Choose CoolTone body contouring treatments to firm up your skin and strengthen your muscles
Tired of your diet and exercise producing results in the wrong spots? Are you not able to build the shape and tone you desire? Do you wish to achieve the most slim and defined shape you can get ahead of a big occasion, like a wedding? With the CoolTone muscle stimulation device, our clinic in Kelowna can help you get the results you want.
Our clinic was among the first in the area to be able to perform treatments using the new CoolTone technology, from the same company that made the CoolSculpting fat removal treatment.
The new CoolTone device makes your skin look more firm and defined by strengthening the muscles beneath it. It specifically targets your abdomen, buttocks or thighs to help you achieve the shape and tone you desire in those key areas.

How Does CoolTone Work?
The CoolTone skin device uses MMS technology, which stands for “magnetic muscle stimulation”. The device is applied to the targeted area on your body — either your abs, buttocks or thigh — and delivers high frequently electromagnetic waves at cold temperatures to your muscles.
In response to the cold temperature, your muscles in the area contracts and strengthens the muscle fibers in a way that normal exercises cannot. The treatment is a safe and painless means to improve the conditioning of the muscles that are affected by the treatment. The end result is you get improved tone and definition to the muscles and skin, which is perfect for people who want to get results that their diet and exercise can’t quite achieve.
Effects of the CoolTone Procedure
The CoolTone treatment does not target or affect fat, like CoolSculpting does. Instead, it targets your muscles. As a result of conditioning the muscles in your core region, you will feel stronger. You will notice improved body contouring lines in the targeted area: your stomach, thighs and buttocks will look more toned and firm.
Treatments are not meant to be a substitute for regular exercise and will not eliminate fat, but it will help your core region look more defined and smooth thanks to the improved muscle toning.
The CoolTone device is noninvasive, and does not require any cutting or drugs. Short-term, mild side effects may include
- Muscular pain
- Temporary muscle spasm
- Temporary joint or tendon pain
- Local erythema or skin redness
Contact us today if you have any questions about how to control these side effects, or if you want to book a CoolTone body contouring appointment at our Kelowna clinic!
Who Is a Good Candidate for the Treatment?
Anyone who wants to improve the conditioning of their muscles in their core area is a good candidate for the CoolTone treatment. However, due to the nature of the device there are some people with specific health issues who should not receive the treatment:
- Patients with cardiac pacemakers, cochlear implants, intrathecal pumps, implanted defibrillators or neurostimulators, or drug pumps
- Patients whose skin in the abdominal, buttock or thigh regions lacks normal sensation
- Patients with fever, a malignant tumor, hemorrhagic conditions, epilepsy, recent surgical procedure application in the area of growth plate, pulmonary insufficiency, pregnancy, sensitivity or allergy to latex.
- Patients who are in or near to their menstruation period
In addition, the treatment should be used with caution for patients with Grave’s disease, active bleeding disorder, or any seizure disorder.
Women who are close to their menstruation period may find that receiving the CoolTone treatment can cause it to arrive sooner, as well as making cramping more intense. We advise patients to avoid this treatment if you are in that stage of your menstruation cycle.
