Stubborn fat. Boy, do we hate it. For many of us, it seems like no matter what we do, we just can’t seem to get rid of it. Now, you’ll never catch me recommending against maintaining a healthy diet and exercise, but this healthful routine doesn’t work the same for everyone. We all have different body types and metabolisms, so knowing what works for us as individuals is important.

By now, I’m sure you know what a wondrous solution CoolSculpting is for people who can’t seem to rid themselves of those pesky “muffin tops” and “bra bulges”. With this innovative treatment’s ability to break down fat cells without the need of any incisions, injections or anesthesia, it’s a wonder that stubborn fat still even exists! But as mentioned, we are all different, so even if you have undergone a CoolSculpting™ treatment, it still stands to reason that you should maintain proper bodily upkeep.

In other words, eating right and exercising will always be good ideas. But what should we be eating and what type of exercising should we be doing?Admittedly, I didn’t know how to answer this until I read a story on a U.S.-based chiropractic website.

You see, I have a friend who uses a treadmill regularly, as she assumes that daily jogging is bound to shed some pounds. The truth is, she is losing weight. However, the stubborn fat she desperately wishes to rid herself of is hanging on for dear life. I thought of her when I read the story. The story tells the tale of a woman who is trying to lose weight in order to fit into a dress for a wedding. Her decision to lessen her food intake helped her to pull it off just in time. After shedding the appropriate amount of weight, she was able to fit into the dress – although not quite like what she had hoped for.The woman’s own battle with stubborn fat was being lost because she hadn’t been consuming enough calories during her crash diet. As the website explains, your body may choose to burn your muscle tissue if its deprived of certain sugars and fats to burn. The woman, as the story reveals, was depriving her of necessary starches and fats.

Following the wedding, when the woman went back to her old eating habits, she didn’t have much muscle left to help burn all of those new calories. So her body began storing the calories from fat and sugar in the form of fat. The moral of the story, of course, is not to starve yourself in an effort to shed pounds.

When working out, it’s important to incorporate muscle building exercises into your routine. Keeping active while consuming the appropriate amount of calories for your body type will assist in burning the fat you want to get rid of. A firm figure is a combination of healthy eating, exercise and for some, a Kelowna CoolSculpting™ appointment. Under these circumstances, stubborn fat has no chance!
