Our laser and skincare clinic is headed by Dr. Craig Crippen MD CCFP FCFP, who has been helping patients fall in love with their own skin again for over a decade now. Dr. Crippen is holds a number of certifications in some of the most effective cosmetic devices in use today, including several types of therapeutic laser systems.
Many different skin conditions can be effectively treated at our clinic. You can learn more about each of them by clicking on one of the links below. Please call if you have any questions about the services we offer:
Acne is a common problem that doesn’t affect everyone the same way. Some people may experience whiteheads, blackheads, inflamed lesions or other types of uncomfortable bumps. It is normal for acne to be painful, and permanent facial scarring can result when acne goes untreated for too long a time.
Birthmarks are marks on your skin that developed either before or immediately after you were born. While they can be frustrating to those that have them, they are almost always harmless and painless. At our Kelowna skincare clinic, we can reduce the visibility of birthmarks with a variety of different methods including our gold standard VBeam Laser or our effective Q-Switch Laser treatments.
On our birthmark page, you’ll be able to find information about the different kinds of birthmarks we treat, and which solution works best for them. You can even see some before and after photos of the treatments we’ve recommended. We encourage you to call with any additional questions.
Botox Jaw Reduction Treatments
An overdeveloped Masseter muscle can give women a masculine look that they may not find pleasing.
Many previous jaw reduction treatments required invasive surgeries, but that’s no longer the case. Our clinic can use injections to weaken and diminish the muscles involved. Find more information on our Botox jaw reduction treatment here.
This non-invasive procedure requires simple injections, so there is no down time. However, some people are very prone to Masseter muscle development, and repeat injections every four to six months may be necessary to maintain results.
Hyperhidrosis is a condition that causes excessive sweating, even in situations where nothing happening should trigger the body to sweat, such as when the body is resting. This can be a very embarrassing condition, and can cause personal and professional problems when left untreated. Fortunately, treatment is possible. Learn about the ones we offer on our Hyperhidrosis treatments page.
While the body can’t be prevented from producing sweat very easily, our clinic can use Botox injections to manage perspiration in certain places, such as from the hands. Our Miradry treatment reduces underarm sweat using the latest technology. Visit our page or schedule a free consultation to learn more about our sweating treatments:
Melasma is a skin discoloration that may appear anywhere on the body that gets frequent sun exposure. It typically appears in ruddy patches that may spread symmetrically on the face. Cases are more common with women who have had children, and female hormones in particular are a contributing factor.
Dr. Crippen has discovered that a special laser together with topical medicated creams can be used very effectively to reduce the visibility of this condition. Depending on your needs, he may also recommend:
- Chemical Peels
- Fractional CO2 Laser
- Skin Care Products
Pearly Penile Papule Treatments
Pearly Penile Papules (PPP) are bumps that may appear along either the ridge or tip of the penis. They are rarely painful or dangerous, and they aren’t a sign of disease or poor hygiene. Instead, they seem to simply be a genetic variation that is experienced by some men and not others. However, they do seem to be more common among men who aren’t circumcised.
This condition can be quickly treated at DermMedica. Our CO2 laser treatment, the only treatment of its kind performed in British Columbia can vaporize the papules over the course of a few minutes. Full recovery and use of the treated area can usually be expected within two weeks, and it’s usually possible to return to normal activity immediately after the procedure.
Rosacea is a condition marked by chronic inflammation of the face. The whole face may be affected, but inflammation is usually most evident on the cheeks, nose, chin and around the eyes. The inflammation may produce swelling, and make irritated veins more visible.
Blindness can result from untreated cases of rosacea, so make sure that it is assessed by a doctor as soon as possible. If you want to diminish the veins, redness and other visible symptoms of rosacea, you can contact our clinic.

Many skin conditions can be improved with the V-Beam laser as the target for this laser is blood and pigmentation.
