Erbium Laser

An Erbium Laser vaporizes water to remove layers of unwanted or problematic skin such as acne scars, moles, skin cancer, sun damaged skin, or wrinkles, while also promoting the skin renewal.

How Does an Erbium Laser Work?

When directed at the problem skin area, skin cells are gently removed, exposing fresh layers of lower lying skin. The heat from the laser also helps to stimulate the growth of new collagen, aiding in the development of younger, smoother skin.

What Conditions Does an Erbium Laser Treat?

What is the Procedure?

At Kelowna Vein Clinic, the average Erbium Laser appointment is 15-20 minutes. Upon arrival to the office, topical freezing is applied to the problem area, the laser is used to remove the tissue, and then a healing ointment is applied over the treatment site.

What is the Recovery Time?

Dependent – on the condition, depth and type of area treated. Patients are encouraged to moisturize the skin, apply sunscreen, avoid sun exposure, and maintain a regular cleansing schedule during the recovery process. As result of the treatment patients can experience minimal crusting, redness, and irritation. Healing times vary between 1 day to 1 week depending on the patients particular condition.

What Are the Expected Results?

Usually the condition or problem being treated is greatly improved. In most cases a maintenance treatment will be required to see further improvements as each session will reveal newer, smoother skin.
