We have the only Q--Switch Alexandrite laser in the BC interior to treat tattoos. This special laser can treat that pesky green colour which is impossible to remove with all other tattoo removal lasers. We have been performing laser tattoo removal longer than anyone else in the BC interior.

Tattoos are the result of a personal choice to have insoluble ink deposited into the dermis layer of the skin. The dermis layer is a lower layer of the skin and thus holds onto the ink much better leaving a permanent marking showing throught the skin.

Although the ink is deposited deep into the skin, it is possible to remove this ink gradually with a special type of laser that emits high amounts of energy to selectively destroy very small ink particles. The lasers used for tattoo removal are called q-switch lasers. These lasers can produce very large amounts of light energy in a very short period of time, hence they are useful for destroying tiny ink particles in the skin.

Laser Tattoo Removal is the only way to gradually remove tattoos without scarring the skin. It is common for the number of treatments to be in the range of 4-8 sessions for an all-black tattoo. Coloured tattoos usually require more sessions but each tattoo is different and responds in a different fashion depending on the type of ink used, depth of ink into the dermis, and length of time the tattoo has been on the body. 100% elimination of a tattoo cannot be guaranteed but we do our best to maximize your results for each treatment session. We also see a number of patients who just wish to lighten the tattoo to have it covered-up and the q-switch laser treatment is an excellent strategy to accomplish this task.
